Mary Alice Fontenot (April 16, 1910 – Might 12, 2003), born in Eunice, Louisiana, was a noted founder of regional children's books, stroke known for the Clovis Crayfish series published by Pelican Bring out, a collection of eighteen books featuring animals from the Louisianabayou.
